Fairy Cakes

Individual sponge fairy cakes. These are jungle themed animals (tigers, elephants, giraffes, zebras and monkeys).  Sponge cake topped green royal icing.  Each animal modelled from coloured sugarpaste with royal iced features.

These cakes can be made as extra cakes for the table or more popular they can be individually wrapped as party bag cakes.  Whichever way they are a great favourite with the children.  The client ordered these together with the Giraffe jungle cake also found on this site.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

8″ square vanilla sponge cake, covered in white sugarpaste. Caterpillar and leaf made from modelling paste.  Fruits hand painted on all sides with edible food colouring.  Grass on edge of board piped with green royal icing.

This ever popular story book is a favourite of many children, including my own.  This client wanted it for his child who reads the book repeatedly.  If your child has not read it, I would recommend this book aimed at pre-school children.

Iggle Piggle Cake

Large madeira cake cut to shape, sandwiched with jam and buttercream and coated in white textured sugarpaste.  The board was coated in green sugarpaste before putting Iggle Piggle in place.   Blue colour painted on after and blanket made from red sugarpaste.  Eyes, nose and mouth all cut from coloured sugarpaste as well as detail on head.  Writing on blanket piped in white royal icing.

This is a returning client, whose son is very fond of this popular character.  I had to do a search to find out what he looked like as my children had not heard of him!  She was very happy with Iggle Piggle and her son was too.

RPI Anniversary Cake

10″ Vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream.  Coated in white sugarpaste, anniversary plaque added with four different logos.  White royal icing used to add detail.  Red ribbon around base of cake and board to finish.

Client wanted this large cake for special Corporate 10th Anniversary.   After several attempts at a suitable design we agreed this one was the best.  She was very pleased with this result.

Chocolate Heaven Birthday Cake

8″ Devils food cake, filled and coated with chocolate ganache, a layer of chocolate sugarpaste.  Dark chocolate ganache poured over for smooth finish.  Decoated with milk and white chocolate modelled roses/leaves.  Cigarellos, handmade chocolate shards, and curls added to complete the indulgence.

Client wanted cake for a total chocoholic girlfriend!  I produced this for him, he was blown away with result and couldn’t wait to eat it.  I think this would satisfy any chocoholic.

Bob the Builder 60th Birthday Cake

10″ Round vanilla sponge cake, with jam and buttercream, coated in white sugarpaste.  Wall detail made from sugarpaste, dusted and added to sides.  Ladder made from white royal icing and positioned on side next to Bob, who is modelled from modelling paste and sugarpaste. ‘60′ iced using flooding technique.

Client wanted a cake for ‘Bob’s 60th’.  After having had several novelty themed cakes, she wanted something a little more special but still incorporating Bob the Builder theme.  She was very pleased with my efforts.

9″ Square vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream.  Coated in red sugarpaste, taxi, horsehead and football made from modelling paste.  Lettering also from modeling paste.  White ribbon added to base of cake and board.

Welsh Flag Cake

7″ Chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, coated in white sugarpaste.  Flag and dragon cut from modelling paste.  Writing in bright green royal icing.  Welsh themed ribbon added to base of cake.  Red satin ribbon around board.

Arsenal Badge Cake

10″ square vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream, coated in white sugarpaste. Top edge created with crimpers and red royal icing for small dots.  Badge made from modelling paste and painted with edible colours.  Writing piped with red royal icing.  Red ribbon added to base of cake and board.

This client was looking for a special 40th birthday cake for her partner who loves Arsenal.  When she made contact it turned out I used to work with her many years ago and now we may well rekindle a friendship.

Belle Cake

8″ Round chocolate cake, with chocolate buttercream, coated in violet sugarpaste.  Large and small hearts made in darker shade of violet sugarpaste, Belle modelled in coloured sugarpaste and writing in violet again.

This client was returning for the 3rd time!  Her daughter provided me with a photo which I duplicated on to the cake.  They were both very pleased with the result.
